Hello Hurricanes!!!

It is almost Hampden Heights Hurricanes Swim Season!  Many of you have already jumped on registration - if not, it is now OPEN so head on over to the team's Swimtopia website linked here (www.hampdenheights.swimtopia.com) and click on REGISTRATION at the top. You will be able to log in and pre-populate most of the info from last year. Payment is available through Venmo or you can write a good old paper check when practice starts.  You will also be able to sign up for meet volunteer positions for our three home meets during registration.

Speaking of volunteering, we have some special needs this summer.  

1.  We need a new Starter/Ref.  This is the person who announces and starts the events and approves any DQs from the Stroke Judges.  There will be a required training from our League and Jon Nelson, our former Starter/Ref, is willing to do additional training with the new volunteer.  This position will fulfill the three volunteer shifts for your family and are full-meet positions.

2.  We are looking for a Treasurer in training to learn from the fabulous Meghan Klassen this summer and take over this position next summer.  Please email [email protected] if you have additional questions about this role.  This role is exempt from the three required meet volunteer shifts.

3.  We currently have 2 Parent Reps (Alli Pineda and I).  We are looking for 1-2 people who would like to learn the ropes this summer and then next summer take one of our positions.  We propose moving to a 2 year rotation after that so there is always one newbie and one returner.  This job entails attending RMSL Leage meetings monthly during the off season, organizing registration and meet sign up, coordinating volunteer positions for meets, and any other events that the team wants to do.  This role is exempt from the three required meet volunteer shifts.
