Volunteer Info
To register for Volunteer positions, please go to the Meets & Events section of this site, click on the meet and select the position you are interested in!
The Hampden Heights Swim Team operation and success is dependent upon extensive parent volunteer participation throughout the season. We do require a minimum of 3 jobs per family throughout the regular season. If, at the end of the regular season (not including prelims and finals), your family has not met their volunteer requirement, your account will be charged and you will be contacted to collect this fee. Please note that the Volunteer Opt Out Fee is always an option if you’d rather not volunteer. Also keep in mind that it is not a “per job” fee… if you only volunteer twice, the entire $250 opt out fee is still valid. *If you have a child participating in Prelims and/or finals, you MUST be able and willing to fill a volunteer shift that day for your child to participate*. The volunteer shifts for prelims and finals will be posted as soon as they are determined to help you plan.
If you are unable to fill your assigned position please arrange a trade with another family.
Check In
When you arrive at the meet, it is important that you check in on the Volunteer Clipboard with the Volunteer Coordinator to pick up your nametag which lists your job and time shift for the meet. By checking in early, we will know that all positions have been filled and, more importantly, we will be able to start the meet on schedule.
If you are volunteering for the first shift of the day, it is important that you are at your position at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the meet. First shift volunteers cannot leave until they are replaced with a second shift volunteer. Volunteer shifts are an adult commitment. If your swimmer is no longer able to be in a meet you volunteered to be at, it is your responsibility to reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator or Parent Rep to see of you can change or let them know who your replacement will be.
