Hello 8 & U Hurricane Parents!

See below for details about the 8 & U Prelim Meet. There are several attachments - Info and a Map for the Tuesday, July 11th Prelim Meet as well as Info about Finals on Saturday, July 15th. Remember, the top 16 swimmers in each event qualify for Finals and the 17-18th place swimmers are invited as alternates. Please share these meet details with your young person if they are getting themselves to the meet!!

Location and Warm-Up - Prelims will be at Stonegate - directions. Detailed info on parking and drop-off can be found in the attachment. We will have our big purple tent set up in the field to the North of the pool - it is a prime location - close to the street!!! Our assigned warm-up time is 6:50 a.m. Please plan to arrive to the pool by 6:30 a.m. to give yourself time to find parking and get settled before warm-up!

Heat Sheets - They are not yet available so keep an eye on the Swimoptia App. I will have copies for our coaches and a few for the tent. Note - they will be very strict about enforcing no parents in the Heating area - only coaches with wrist bands will be allowed.  Please prep your swimmer if they will struggle with this!

Volunteers - See attached - we still have two spots that need to be filled.  They are for the last Heating shift.  I know it says that the shift is from 3-6:30 p.m. - without jynxing it (hopefully) I am predicting it won't go until 6:30!  I think they were done by 4:00 last year!  If no one signs up for these spots, we will draw names out of a hat on the day of the event.  Thank you for stepping up!! We will also need some Finals volunteers so once you know if your swimmer is going take a look! (Timers, Heaters, and Scorers needed!!)

This will be a long meet!  If you want to bring some activities for the kiddos in between events that would be great!!
