2024 RMSL Training Sessions for Stroke Judges & Starter-Referees
In accordance with RMSL Bylaws, member teams are required to have two Stroke Judges available for each shift at each meet. Additionally, every stroke judge, starter and referee is required to attend, at minimum, one RMSL training clinic per annual season.
2024 Stroke Judge Requirements
1.USA officials will be exempt from training/quiz with presentation of their certification from USA swimming.
2.Returning Stroke/Judge and Starter Referee will need to complete:
- Online training:
- Watch how to Officiate videos posted from USA swimming
- Review the Power point presentation
- Take the official’s quiz
- Screen shot results and email results [email protected]
3.New officials and new Starters/Referees will need to complete:
- Online training: Watch how to officiate Videos and review Power Point presentations.
- Complete the Quiz: provide a screen shot of your result [email protected]
- Complete a 2 hour IN PERSON shadow training during a pre-season or regular dual meet.
- Attend the IN -PERSON training on May 5th at the MACS pool
- Stroke Judge 10am-12 pm
- Starter/Referee 12 pm-1 pm

Step 4: IN PERSON Training
1. Attend in person training
May 5th: Stroke & Turn 10 am- 12 pm
Starter & Referee: 12 pm -1 pm
Pier Point Pool: 3869 S. Atchison Way Aurora, CO 80014
2. Complete a 2- hour shift of shadowing prior to your first solo shift.
Maintain ongoing mentorship with other officials on your team throughout the season.
