Hello Hurricanes!

Practice is on for today at the usual times 4-7:30pm for all age groups and swimmers. It is still forecast to be chilly in the low 60s and some chance of rain, so feel free to do what's best for your child. The pool temp is back to normal around 81F, so the water feels warm as long as swimmers keep moving. 

Also, don't forget we do not have practice on Monday due to the holiday and our first meet is next Saturday.  The meet is an away meet and we'll be sending out more info on how to register and when. We do not let younger swimmers enter a meet until they can confidently swim a whole length unassisted because we want their first race to be a positive experience. If you have an 8 or younger swimmer who is new to swim team, I would HIGHLY recommend waiting until the following week 6/6 or even 6/13 when we've had some regular morning practices and are at home for our meet. Our parent team runs a well organized swim meet and the pool will be familiar to our swimmers. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.

Lastly, we will start morning practices next week for swimmers who are out of school. In the afternoons we will still have practices at the same scheduled times for swimmers who are still in school, but we will only have 2 lanes because the pool is open to members. If your swimmer is out of school please have them go to morning practices because the afternoon ones will be very crowded. I'll be sending another email this weekend with details about morning practice times.
